Hello, my name is Matthew and I am the inventor of the Forever-Sign. The initial idea for the Forever-Sign came when I started investigating signs to mark my property. I was unhappy with how long the plastic and paper signs currently available lasted. Along with that I did not like having to build mounting plates to attach the signs to uncommon mounting structures. For that reason I decided to start looking into steel or aluminum signs however after seeing the price I realized that they were also out of the question. I am a design engineer by trade mostly in the plastics automotive product area, so I thought that I could come up with a solution to the problems that I mentioned above. I started by listing what I wanted that was not currently available.

• Price, it had to be inexpensive in comparison to its competition.
• Longevity, it should not need to be replacing it every five to ten years.
• Mounting, it had to have various mounting methods without the need for additional hardware.
• Visibility, it had to have a large amount of color.
• Durability, it had to be able to withstand bullet holes and still be understood.
• It had to be designed, tooled, and manufactured in the United States.

After listing out these requirements I started to design the look of the Forever-Sign. I started with the general size and cut out lettering. From there I started making a list of what current signs are mounted to and then developed ways to incorporate them into the Forever-Sign. These steps defined what the Forever-Sign was going to look like along with how it would work. The next step was coming up with a suitable material.

After looking into various materials it was decided to go with High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE). The main reason behind this selection was the outstanding performance HDPE has shown in field in highway construction barrels. It is extremely durable and visible out in the environment and made a perfect fit for the Forever-Sign.

That in a nut shell is how the Forever-Sign came to be. I can only hope that you feel the Forever-Sign is a better alternative than what is currently available. However if you feel that it does not meet your needs please let me know why as I am always interested in ways to improve my product.
